Three bold predictions and a pick ahead of the start of the first-round playoff series between the Phoenix Suns and LA Clippers.

It’s hard to blame the Phoenix Suns for electing to go all-in at the NBA Trade Deadline when Kevin Durant suddenly became available. And so far, despite an injury that cost Kevin Durant some time, it has worked well. Really well. Heading into the start of the playoffs, you can make the argument that the Suns are the championship favorites heading into their first-round playoff series against the LA Clippers.

Even as the 4th seed, the Suns will have their work cut out for them against the Clippers who, when healthy, have the ability to keep up with any team in the Western Conference. But health is going to be a big question in this series. This is one of those matchups that could end up being decided by health. Whichever team is healthier may end up winning this series.

And, at least for now, it seems like the Suns are in a bit of a better position considering there’s no guarantee Paul George will be back for the first round. Ahead of the start of this series between the Suns and Clippers, we explore three bold predictions and a series pick.

Bold prediction No. 1: The Paul George-less Clippers will be a worthy adversary for the Suns

My first prediction for this series is that the Paul George-less Clippers will prove to be a worthy foe for the Suns. I believe that the Clippers will push the Suns. Kawhi Leonard is too good and the Clippers are too deep to not put up a good fight against LA.

In the end, I’m not sure if the Clippers have enough fire-power to dethrone the Suns but they won’t be a pushover in this first-round series.
