Offseason Goal No. 4: Find a fringe star (or contributor) to target

Lastly, if the Bulls want to get back to a place where they could potentially compete in the Eastern Conference, they’re probably going to have to find another fringe star or strong contributor to help them take a step forward. And the Bulls don’t need a big star. That’s not necessary. Would that be nice, absolutely? But if they can find a player that can have such a positive impact on the team to the level that Lonzo Ball was having before his injury, it would make all the difference for the team.

Of course, that could be difficult for the team to come by. The good news is that they will have some options. Every year, fringe stars are available – whether that’s through, free agency, sign-and-trade deals, or simple trades. Someone is bound to try to wiggle free from their respective situation and could be in play for a team like Chicago.

If the Bulls find themselves in such a situation, they must figure out how to get it done.

Chicago is likely heading into the offseason with some high expectations. They need to figure out how to retool on the fly. The question is, can they get it done?
