14. New Orleans Pelicans – Keyonte George, G, Baylor

With how their season started, it’s somewhat of a disappointment that the New Orleans Pelicans failed to officially qualify for the NBA Playoffs. At one point, near the midway point of the season, the Pelicans were sitting as the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference standings. The fact that they lost in the first leg of the Play-In Tournament is not something they should feel good about heading into the offseason. Even less so considering there are still big questions revolving around Zion Williamson and his NBA future.

It’s still probably too early to label Zion as an NBA Draft bust but the fact that he’s played in less than 50 percent of games through the first few years of his career is not great. If he’s going to be the superstar that the Pelicans believed he could be when they drafted him, something has to change. But I suppose that’s a different topic for another day. Back to the NBA Mock Draft.

With the final pick in the lottery, one prospect that would be in play for the Pelicans is Keyonte George, an offensive-minded guard out of Baylor. If he can prove to be more efficient at the next level, he’s a player that could begin chipping in offensively almost right away.
