3. Houston Rockets – Scoot Henderson, G, League Ignite

This has been said time and time before, but Scoot Henderson should not be viewed as a consolation prize in this year’s NBA Draft. If he finds the right situation, it would not be surprising to see Henderson blossom into a superstar in this league. He has all the tools to be the next, say Ja Morant, with the way he exploded onto the scene a couple of seasons ago. He’s supremely athletic, is a great competitor, and has the tools to develop into a complete player on both ends of the floor.

And the Rockets could be the perfect situation for Henderson. This franchise has already managed to assemble a strong young core with Jalen Green, Alperen Sengun, and Jabari Smith with good decisions in previous drafts, and Henderson would be a great addition to that core.

It would just be about finding the right head coach to make it all work.

Even if the Rockets don’t come away with the No. 1 pick and Victor Wembanyama, it shouldn’t be viewed as a lost effort coming out of the NBA Draft. Henderson could very well end up being the next face of the Rockets.
