7. Washington Wizards – Cam Whitmore, F, Villanova

The Washington Wizards are another team that has some big decisions to make regarding its star player heading into the NBA Draft. And, quite frankly, I’m not sure if the team’s plan of re-signing both Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis will work out that well either. Nevertheless, with another top-10 pick in the NBA Draft, the Wizards will have another opportunity to right a wrong. And with the way the board has fallen, one prospect that the Wizards could end up targeting is Cam Whitmore.

The biggest reason why Whitmore is likely going to be selected in the top 10 is due to his high ceiling. Whitmore, during his freshman season at Villanova, was an explosive athlete at 6-foot-7 and showed that he could be a difference-maker on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.

If he can improve as a shooter, there’s no question that Whitmore can be a consistent contributor to a team down the road. And, if he does indeed hit his ceiling, there’s no question that he can be a future star. No matter what the team ends up deciding to do about Bradley Beal, Whitmore would be a smart selection for the Wizards.
