2023 NBA Draft: Non-lottery order is set after random tiebreaker drawings
The non-lottery order for the 2023 NBA Draft has been set after a series of random tiebreaker drawings. Now we wait for the NBA Draft Lottery.
The 2023 NBA Playoffs are in full swing and by the time you know it, we’ll have a new NBA Champion (unless, of course, the Golden State Warriors repeat). For many teams, though, the offseason has already begun. They’ll get a head start on the offseason even though there isn’t much to do just yet.
One way that many teams will get a head start is through their scouting departments as the 2023 NBA Draft will be the first domino to fall during the NBA offseason. While the NBA Draft Lottery is the big draw ahead of the draft, there was a pretty big random drawing tiebreaker to decide the non-lottery order. The non-lottery order is now set for the NBA Draft.

The NBA Draft Lottery is where the real drama begins
While it is news that the non-lottery NBA Draft order is now set, the drama now revolves around the NBA Draft Lottery, which will take place a little less than a month from now, on May 16. On that day, the No. 1 pick will be determined and as will the remainder of the lottery. At that point, it will be much easier to try and predict how exactly the 2023 NBA Draft will go. Plus, we’ll also get to see who officially wins the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes.
Over the next few weeks, the NBA pre-draft process is expected to pick up steam too. This year’s NBA Draft Combine is set for Tuesday, May 16, and will conclude Thursday, May 18. And then individual workouts will be in full swing at that point.
The 2023 NBA Draft could end up being one of the most memorable draft classes in recent history. And as we inch closer and closer to the draft festivities, it’s hard to not be excited about the possibilities, especially if you are a team that will be involved in the NBA Draft Lottery. It’ll be here sooner than we know it.
