Draymond Green, Golden State Warriors

Much like the two previous trade targets, Draymond Green is another possible sign-and-trade candidate. There’s no guarantee that the Golden State Warriors will be able to afford every big name on the roster and that could mean some will be left out. One of the players that could fall victim to the salary cap is Draymond, who will likely be seeking a max contract extension from the Warriors this summer. There’s no guarantee that he’ll get it, especially considering that Klay Thompson will also be seeking a max extension.

If the Warriors balk and decide to move on, perhaps Draymond would be open to playing with Kyrie and Luka in Dallas. He would be a calming and demanding (in a good way) voice in the locker room and while he may no longer be in the prime of his career, he’s still a really good player and offers defensive versatility.

Draymond’s toughness is something that every playoff team and contender needs. And Dallas could be in a position where they’d be open to giving him a big money deal, perhaps on the shorter end in years. Draymond wouldn’t be the team’s top target via trade this offseason, but perhaps their two paths could align at some point.
