Heading into a pivotal Game 4 against the Sacramento Kings, the blueprint of a dynasty is on the line for the Golden State Warriors.

After the Sacramento Kings blew a golden opportunity to take a stranglehold of the first-round NBA playoff series in Game 3, the stage is now set for what could end up being remembered as an epic battle in Game 4 against the Golden State Warriors who will be playing for much more than just a 2-2 series tie.

Heading into a pivotal Game 4, which is slated for Sunday afternoon at the Chase Center, the Warriors will be playing for their dynasty. Even though they would still have another game to play in Game 5 if they lose Game 4, I have a hard time believing that they’ll be able to come back from down 3-1 in the series. Not only do they need to win Game 4 to keep the series relatively alive, but they need to do so to also salvage the dynasty.

In the past eight years, the Warriors have had six NBA Finals appearances. They’re 4-2 in that stretch. In the two years that they didn’t make the NBA Finals, they didn’t make the playoffs due to being decimated by injuries.

That is not the case this season. The Warriors are healthy and if they fail to make the NBA Finals this season, it will be because of something completely different – the fact that this amazing run could have hit its peak. If they lose in the first round, it could simply be over.

So as the Warriors enter Game 4 against the Kings, it’s much more than just an opportunity to tie the series.

It’s time for the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings to simply play basketball

And the good news for the Warriors heading into Game 4 is the fact that it can just be about basketball now. The Draymond Green suspension will be over and all the talk that took place at the beginning of the series will be done with.

It’s not about baseball and just that.

The question is, can the Warriors rise to the occasion once more and prove that the dynasty is not over just yet? Can they tap into that previous greatness once again that has helped them win four NBA Championships in the last eight seasons?

The stage is set for Game 4 between the Warriors and Kings, and all the pressure will be on the defending champions. Could this be the end of the dynasty?
