27. Charlotte Hornets (via Denver Nuggets) – Sidy Cissoko, G, France
In need of more talent, the Charlotte Hornets could use this additional first-round pick to take a chance on a raw prospect that could pay off down the road for the team. Sidy Cissoko could be that prospect at this point in the NBA Draft.
Because of his size, length, and athleticism, Cissoko has the potential to be a great defender at the next level. He has some work to do as an offensive player, but that will be a trend for many prospects at this point in the first round. The Hornets could be a good spot for him.
28. Utah Jazz (via Philadelpiha 76ers) – Kris Murray, F, Iowa
Taking a chance on Kris Murray is something that I believe one team in the first round, at least, will be willing to do. He’s a proven scorer and will have the chance to do the same at the next level off the bench for a team. With multiple first-round picks, perhaps the Jazz end up rolling the dice on Murray. Maybe at No. 28.
If he can continue to prove to be a versatile defender, there’s a chance that his floor ends up being a worthy 3-and-D wing. And even if that’s all he is at the next level, that would be a success for a prospect at this point in the draft.
