9. Isaiah Wong, Miami

The Miami Hurricanes nearly made an unlikely run to the NCAA Championship behind the excellent play of Isaiah Wong. He was a big reason for their success and emerged as one of the better players in college basketball this past season. Even though he may not be regarded as one of the better overall prospects in this year’s draft class, there is reason to believe that he could get drafted.

He is a gamer and had a few bright spots during the NCAA Tournament, with the brightest of such being a 27-point, eight-rebound performance in the second round against Indiana. During his final season at Miami, Wong averaged 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists on 45 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Wong will have his work cut out for him in the pre-draft process to ensure that he gets drafted but he’s a player that should get a shot to prove himself at the next level. If he can prove to be a natural playmaker and a capable defender, Wong could carve out a solid career in the NBA as perhaps a backup point guard.
