NBA Mock Draft: 5 Prospects that have franchise-altering potential
Brandon Miller, F, Alabma
There was a point before the NCAA Tournament when you can make a strong argument that Brandon Miller had surpassed Scoot Henderson as the No. 2 overall prospect in this year’s NBA Draft. But because of a somewhat underwhelming showing as a team from Alabama and individually from Miller in the Tournament, there’s no guarantee he’ll be selected in the top 3 of the draft. That said, I don’t think a rough stretch from Miller in the college postseason diminishes much of his long-term potential.
Miller is still 6-foot-9 with a unique offensive skill set. He’s a proven three-level scorer that has the high-end potential to be a pure No. 1 option at the next level. Even before the official pre-draft process, the overwhelming belief is that whoever lands Miller will be getting a player that will be viewed as a foundational piece.
If Miller develops a reaches his ceiling (or anything close to his ceiling), he’s going to be a franchise-changing player. There are no big weaknesses in his game and I’m sure that will once again come to light over the next two months during individual workouts with teams.
