6. Colby Jones, Xavier

During his junior season at Xavier, Colby Jones effectively developed into a quality all-around player. He closed his third season with the Musketeers by averaging 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists on 51 percent shooting from the field and 38 percent shooting from 3-point range. At 6-foot-6 and his all-around skill set, Jones projects to be an interesting well-rounded player at the next level.

He is considered to be one of the more NBA-ready prospects in this year’s draft class and that would be the hope for any team that is drafting him considering he’s played three years in college. The big question is whether he can be anything more than just a rotation player. And that’s where he becomes a polarizing prospect around the league.

Jones won’t be every team’s cup of tea, especially those teams that are looking for stars right away. But, down the road, Jones could be viewed as somewhat of a hidden gem. He may never be a prototypical star-level player in the NBA but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a difference-maker in a smaller role.
