Cleveland Cavaliers target No. 2: Josh Hart, unrestricted

If there’s one ideal target for the Cleveland Cavaliers heading into the summer, it’s probably Josh Hart or someone with a similar skill set as him. There’s nothing that he can’t do on the floor and is the perfect supporting cast player that every successful team in the NBA needs. Unfortunately for the Cavs, he just happened to be on the New York Knicks. In retrospect, Hart is probably the player that theCavs should’ve traded for at the NBA Trade Deadline.

In the five games of the series against the Cavs, Hart averaged 12 points and eight rebounds on 56 percent shooting from the field and 46 percent shooting from 3-point range. If he was on the Cavs instead of the Knicks, I’m not sure if Cleveland wins this series but it probably goes a lot differently.

It would seem unlikely that the Cavs will be able to pry Hart away from the Knicks, especially considering how valuable he’s been for the teams since he was acquired at the trade deadline, but if there’s even a slither of a chance that Cleveland can, they should be all over that possibility.

Hart would be an excellent fit next to this developing core, on both ends of the floor.
