12. Oklahoma City Thunder – Keyonte George, G, Baylor
The rich get richer. With another lottery pick, the Oklahoma City Thunder is a team that will be ready to take a big step forward next season in the Western Conference. Not only are the Thunder adding another lottery pick, but let’s remember that Chet Holmgren will also be making his NBA debut. Or at least he should be. With this selection, with Keyonte George still on the board, the Thunder could take a shot on an explosive scorer.
George has the potential to be a No. 1 offensive option in the NBA but there are still certainly questions about his game. It’s clear that he needs to work on his decision-making and shot selection. He shot under 40 percent from the field overall during his freshman season at Baylor and that is somewhat of a red flag.
He did shoot 34 percent from 3-point range which is better, but still something that will be questioned during the pre-draft process. If George is going to blossom in the NBA, that is something that needs to improve. And fairly quickly.
But, in a vacuum, George is a strong talent that the Thunder should be open to selecting at No. 12.
