As the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors prepare to face off, we explore three bold predictions and make a series pick.

It may not have been the easiest road for the Golden State Warriors or the Los Angeles Lakers for that matter, but both of these teams are playing their best basketball of the season and are just four wins away from clinching a spot in the Western Conference Finals. Had you said that about both these teams a couple of months ago, you might’ve been laughed out of the room.

Nevertheless, as the Lakers and Warriors prepare for this Western Conference semifinals matchup, there’s no question that this will be the most entertaining series in the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

Let’s get started with three bold predictions for this series while also making an official pick.

LeBron James will have one 40-burger in this series

My first prediction is that fresh off of Stephen Curry’s historic 50-point performance in Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings, LeBron James will emulate that with a similar performance of his own. At one point in this series, LeBron will go for 40 points. He won’t hit 50 and that’s probably unfair to expect him to do that at this point in his career, but he can get 40.

If the Lakers are going to be successful in this series, LeBron is going to have to be the best player on the floor – or at least a close second to Steph. I believe he will and he’ll have one performance that outshines the rest.
