The Dallas Mavericks are a team that desperately needs to make some improvements to their roster. After making the big move for Kyrie Irving at the NBA Trade Deadline, the season kind of fell apart for the Mavs. They didn’t qualify for the playoffs, not even the Play-In Tournament. It was an all-around big step back for the team after making an unlikely run to the Western Conference Finals just a year ago.
Heading into the offseason, the Mavs are a team that will be looking to make a big splash. And, for one reason or another, if things don’t work out with Kyrie Irving, a backup plan for Khris Middleton could be worth their time. Middleton would be a great sidekick for Luka Doncic and could help take some of the scoring burdens off of Luka without giving up too much on the defensive end (which was the bigger problem with the move for Kyrie).

If the Mavs do try to make a big move, adding a player as talented and productive as Middleton is as good of a move that may be available for them to make. The clock is ticking for the Mavs and they have to hit a home run this offseason.
