NBA Trade Rumors: 4 Wings Grizzlies could target to replace Dillon Brooks
Grant Williams
Grant Williams, coming off a season in which he averaged eight points and five rebounds per game on 40 percent shooting from 3-point range this season, is absolutely a 3-and-D option that would make a lot of sense for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Heading into the offseason, Williams is a restricted free agent, and considering that his role with the Celtics has been diminished this season, it will open the door for the potential of a sign-and-trade during the offseason. And that’s something the Grizzlies should try to get in on. Williams may not even have hit his ceiling yet as a player and is still just 24 years old.
If the Grizzlies wanted to roll the dice on a player that could emerge as a long-term piece for them, Williams may be the ideal fit. He may not have star potential in his future, but he’s proven to be one of the most versatile defenders in the NBA. And he can hit the 3-point shot on a consistent basis.
Williams brings the defensive intensity that Brooks carries without all the noise. Plus, he’s also very experienced with the Boston Celtics.
