Can Anthony Davis continue his dominance?

Anthony Davis came to dominate and boy did he ever in Game 1. Davis finished with 30 points, 23 rebounds, and five assists as the Lakers took a 1-0 series lead. Davis became the 5th Lakers player to record at least 30 points and 20 rebounds in a playoff game and the first to do so since Shaquille O’Neal.

As good as Davis was on the offensive end he was even better on the defensive end as he accumulated four blocks and kept the Warriors out of the paint with his presence. The Warriors were only able to score 28 points in the paint which is mind-blowing considering the fact that they had the second-highest total of points in the paint during the regular season.

What’s scary is that Davis could wind up having an even better performance in Game 2 if the Warriors can’t make the proper adjustments. When he is healthy, Davis is arguably the best big man in the NBA and the Lakers are a better team whenever he is on the floor.

Davis understands that the Lakers will only go as far as he can carry them and he understands his importance as the anchor of that defense.
