NBA Rumors: Is there a team that can salvage Dillon Brooks’ NBA career?
It was far from an ideal sixth season with the Memphis Grizzlies or Dillon Brooks. The season started with him declining a contract extension from the team and he followed that up by having one of the worst statistical seasons of his career.
Now that the team has said they don’t plan on re-signing Brooks (subscription required), who will be a free agent, this offseason, it leaves him in an unappealing place. What’s his next move? Will he get the big-money extension that he was seeking last summer? There are many questions surrounding Brooks’ future and not many answers just yet.
Heading into the offseason, while there will likely be suitors, will there be the one team that could help salvage his career? We predict five potential landing spots that could help him get back on track in the NBA.
Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks have some big questions of their own heading into the offseason but seem like a natural potential landing spot for Dillon Brooks. Even more so if he doesn’t get the big money deal that he’s likely going to be looking for initially.
The Bucks could use a defender and some added toughness. For all his critiques, Brooks is still a player that can dig his teeth in and play good defense. If he can bounce back from a bad 3-point shooting season, his fit with the Bucks would make even more sense. Could it work?
