If you can’t beat them, join them. Perhaps that’s something that Dillon Brooks can take quite literally heading into the offseason. Coming off what will likely end up defining his career with the Memphis Grizzlies, Brooks had a playoff series to forget against the Los Angeles Lakers. Maybe he’s a player that could help the Lakers next season. He would add a welcomed defensive intensity and edge that every team needs.

Having a level of uncertainty regarding a few of the players on their roster, the Lakers are likely going to be looking for depth during the offseason. Depending on how Brooks’ free-agency market, the Lakers could be a team that can help resurrect his career. Maybe Brooks would find it worthwhile to sign a one-year prove-it deal with the Lakers in hopes of using that as a stepstool to next summer.

If nothing else, he would add another level of intrigue to the Lakers heading into next season. And he’d be another player that could help take some of the pressure off of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
