Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are in a difficult position heading into the offseason. Amid the uncertainty that revolves around Lonzo Ball, he’s essentially dead cap on the team’s sheet until the 2024-25 season. He’s not expected to be back during the 2023-24 season and that will make the offseason that much more difficult to maneuver for the team. Nevertheless, the Bulls are still a team that will be looking to improve during the summer.

Other than that, it’s likely that the Bulls are going to try to retool around Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan. One way they could do that is by striking a deal for Deandre Ayton. He’s a player with undeniable talent but, for one reason or another, has struggled during his time in Phoenix. Perhaps a fresh start in Chicago is exactly what he needs.

For Phoenix, they could get a nice haul from the Bulls centered around Patrick Williams and Alex Caruso. This is a deal that could make sense for both teams, especially if Chicago is completely set on expanding this current window of DeRozan-LaVine. And, hey, maybe Ball returns sooner than expected?
