3. Charlotte Hornets

Pre-lottery odds of landing the No. 1 overall pick: 12.5%

At least in my opinion, the Charlotte Hornets are the one team that I believe deserves the No. 1 overall pick. For as much as this franchise has struggled, they deserve a lifeline in the way of Victor Wembanyama. And from a basketball perspective, he would make an interesting pairing next to LaMelo Ball. You can’t sit there and say you wouldn’t at least be a little intrigued by a team led by Ball and Victor next season.

For the past two decades, it’s been a rough go-around for the Hornets overall. Even more recently since the team decided to part ways with Kemba Walker. The last time the Hornets won a playoff series, it was 2002. Since then, the team has only made the postseason three times and has won a grand total of three playoff games.

The Hornets deserve some positivity. They deserve an extremely talented player that they can rally around. They deserve some relevance in the NBA. Victor is the exact prospect that can give them that immediately.
