2. Charlotte Hornets – Scoot Henderson, G, G League Ignite
The story coming out of the NBA Draft Lottery was dominated by who would win the No. 1 overall pick and the right to select Victor Wembanyama. But in this year’s NBA Draft, the runner-up was also going to get a really great player in Scoot Henderson. For a prospect that is just scratching the surface of his long-term potential, there is a lot to be excited about when it comes to Henderson.
Not only does Scoot have a name that echos NBA superstar, but so does his game. While there’s still much that needs to be determined about his game, Scoot can immediately come in and be a primary playmaker. He’s one of the most athletic guards in this year’s draft class and will immediately pop when he has the ball in his hands.
He has also proven recently that he has the potential to be a consistent shooter. If he continues to build off that, there’s no question that he can emerge as one of the league’s most prolific young point guards in the game.
There’s a good chance that Scoot ends up being a household name in the league sooner rather than later.
