The 2023 NBA Draft Lottery is just around the corner.

Victor Wembanyama is the headling prospect heading into the 2023 NBA Draft. And with the pre-draft process officially underway, there is plenty of intrigue that will continue to grow over the next few weeks.

The 2023 NBA Draft class is an interesting one. While all the attention surrounds Wembanyama, as it probably should, there are many other talking points heading into the draft season. At least in my opinion, there are a few teams that are picking in the draft lottery that could be looking to trade out of their respective spots. And it could make for some interesting speculation over the next few weeks.

It will lead into the 2023 NBA Draft.

When is the 2023 NBA Draft?

The 2023 NBA Draft is scheduled for June 22, 2023. It will take place once the NBA Finals have officially been concluded and will mark the official start of the NBA offseason. And now that the official NBA Draft order has been set, the true and accurate speculation can begin.

The 2023 NBA Draft Lottery results

The 2023 NBA Draft Lottery is officially done and in the books. It has given us some added clarity to how the top of the NBA Draft will begin. At the top, it was the San Antonio Spurs winning the No. 1 overall pick. That means that generational talent, and quite possibly the greatest draft prospect in NBA history, will fall under the tutelage of Gregg Popovich and the Spurs.

Here are the complete results from the lottery:

1. San Antonio Spurs

2. Charlotte Hornets

3. Portland Trail Blazers

4. Houston Rockets

5. Detroit Pistons

6. Orlando Magic

7. Indiana Pacers

8. Washington Wizards

9. Utah Jazz

10. Dallas Mavericks

11. Orlando Magic (via Chicago Bulls)

12. Oklahoma City Thunder

13. Toronto Raptors

14. New Orleans Pelicans

As you can see, there was some movement at this year’s NBA Draft Lottery. The biggest took place when the Portland Trail Blazers jumped from No. 5 into the top 3. The Detroit Pistons fell to No. 5, Houston fell to No. 4, with the Hornets jumping to No. 2, and the San Antonio Spurs, of course, winning the top overall pick.

After that, it was pretty chalk. But it should set up for an interesting next few weeks nonetheless.

The 2023 NBA Draft is just around the corner and from all indications, this could end up being one of the more fascinating drafts in recent history. Buckle up, the NBA Draft season is just getting started.
