The 2023 NBA Draft lottery brought excitement and disappointment for a number of teams.

The 2023 NBA Draft Lottery is officially complete, and the results have left teams and fans alike with mixed emotions. In a night filled with hopes and dreams, some franchises left the lottery filled with excitement, while others were incredibly disappointed.

Let’s take a closer look at the winners and losers of the 2023 NBA Draft lottery and explore the implications for these teams as they prepare to make their selections.

Let’s start off with the winners.

1. San Antonio Spurs – winner

The San Antonio Spurs were by far the biggest winners of the lottery, as they got the No. 1 overall pick and now have a chance to select Victor Wembanyama, one of the best prospects in recent memory and possibly one of the best prospects of all time.

The Spurs entered the draft tied with the Pistons and Rockets for the best odds to get the No. 1 overall pick. Luck was obviously on their side, as they won the top selection, while the Rockets and Pistons fell outside the top three.

Now the Spurs get a generational prospect who has the potential to be one of the best players in the NBA someday. What a night for them.
