Paul George, LA Clippers
The expectation heading into the offseason is that the LA Clippers are going to try to retool the roster around Paul George and Kawhi Leonard and not make any rash moves, but maybe there’s at least a non-zero chance that the Portland Trail Blazers can pry Paul George away from the Clippers. And if that ends up being the case, the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft would be a great return for George.
And let’s be honest, a duo of Lillard and George could do some major damage in the Western Conference. If the Clippers could just remain healthy, they’d be a favorite in the West. The Clippers’ recent failures have been more about health than actual basketball. It seems like a tall task, but perhaps LA decides to blow things up this offseason and get a jump start on a rebuild with Brandon Miller or Scoot Henderson?
George is still in the prime of his career and would be a high-talent superstar that Lillard has never really played with at all throughout his career. George would be the best teammate that Lillard has ever had and the Blazers would be in a great position to compete for a title.
