The case for Brandon Miller
Six-foot-nine, 200-pound Brandon Miller is the most talented wing in this draft. In his freshmen season at Alabama this year, Miller won the SEC Player of the Year and helped Alabama to the 1st overall seed in the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately, the Crimson Tide came up short and lost to eventual finalists San Diego State University in the Sweet 16, but Miller had already proved himself as the best prospect in college basketball.
Brandon Miller is the dream modern-day wing. He shoots the ball extremely high well at 38% on 7.5 attempts per game, he has a decent handle that allows him to pull up or get to the rim, he’s sneaky athletic, and he competes well on the defensive end. He even started to develop his playmaking ability as the season went on.
Miller’s 6-foot-9 height, 7-foot wingspan, and silky smooth shooting have drawn him comparisons to Paul George. Miller is someone who certainly has a high upside, but he can also contribute from day one in the NBA.
How would Brandon Miller fit with the Charlotte Hornets?
The Hornets are lacking young talented wings for their rebuild, and Brandon Miller fits that hole perfectly. Miller can play off the ball while LaMelo handles, but he can also create his own shot when needed.
Defensively, Miller is the type of guy the Hornets should be dying to have. He’s long, pretty athletic, and competes on that side of the floor. The former Alabama guard is really the perfect fit on both sides of the ball.
