Trade assets: 1. Jayson Tatum 2. Jaylen Brown 3. Marcus Smart

As the Boston Celtics attempt to win an NBA Championship this season, and they’ll have a great opportunity to do so, this is also a franchise that is sitting in a great position heading into the future. And one of the bigger reasons why is the amount of assets that this front office has assembled over the years. And, at least for now, it all starts with Jayson Tatum for the Celtics.

Tatum is a perennial NBA MVP talent and you’d have to imagine he’ll win one at some point in his career. Once everything clicks for him as a player, Tatum has the potential to be the best player in the NBA. Tatum’s running mate, Jaylen Brown is another emerging player that is still getting better.

Brown has developed into one of the most natural scorers the NBA has to offer and if he wasn’t playing next to Tatum, you’d have to imagine that he’d be a more established star in the league today. Boston’s third-best trade asset has to be Marcus Smart. He does all the dirty work and is one of those players that you hate playing against but love playing with.
