The Dallas Mavericks trading the No. 10 pick

From all indications, the Dallas Mavericks are a team that many expect to make a big move or two this offseason. They need to find a way to upgrade their roster around Luka Doncic and, hopefully, Kyrie Irving. But without much salary cap flexibility, the way that the Mavs are going to accomplish that goal is either via the NBA (they own the No. 10 overall pick) or via trade. And you’d have to imagine that the most likely scenario is that the Mavs are going to try to make a big splash via trade.

That means there’s at least a fair chance that Dallas ends up trading the No. 10 pick on NBA Draft night or shortly after. And it’ll be interesting to see what the Mavs could get and what they’d be targeting. It’s not like the Mavs will be able to get a star in exchange for the No. 10 pick and they might not need one. Dallas just needs to find a potential difference-maker with this asset.

And it could make for a chaotic second half of the lottery on NBA Draft night. It could all come down to this – how desperate will the Mavs be to trade the No. 10 pick?
