The Orlando Magic packaging their two lottery picks to move up

Heading into the NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic have the opportunity to be flexible and bold. They are the only team in the NBA with two lottery picks (thanks to the Chicago Bulls) and could theoretically package them together to either move up in the NBA Draft or perhaps even to land a star. Orlando will start the draft with selections No. 6 and 11 in their back pockets. Though, there’s no guarantee that they will make both of those picks.

And I believe there’s at least a small chance that the Magic could end up using them to trade up to No. 4 or 5 to take a player that they truly want. Under the expectation that the Houston Rockets are going to be aggressive to sign veterans in free agency (specifically James Harden), they could be a team that decides to trade down to add additional assets that could help them acquire a future star via trade. The Detroit Pistons at No. 5 could be in the same boat with an established young core already as well.

Nevertheless, the Magic trading their two picks to move up or in another move would create quite the unexpected madness on NBA Draft night.
