A team trading up for Scoot Henderson

The 2023 NBA Draft is one of those rare occasions where you can make the argument that there are two No. 1 overall prospects. Victor Wembanyama is the clear No. 1 pick, and he’ll make the San Antonio Spurs happy, but Scoot Henderson is going to be a great consolation prize for another team. He SHOULD be the No. 2 pick but if the Charlotte Hornets pass up on him and select Brandon Miller, who is the better fit on the roster, it could create quite the stir for the Portland Trail Blazers at No. 3.

It would create a possible bidding war from teams that want to draft Scoot. In fairness, perhaps this could even happen with the Hornets at No. 2. But I simply believe they’re in such a bad spot that they have to make a pick in the top 3. Regardless, if a team trades up for Scoot, it would create quite major chaos.

And Scoot might deserve to be moved up for. He has superstar potential and there isn’t much on the basketball floor that he can’t do. If this wasn’t a Wemby draft, there’d be little question that he would be worthy of being selected No. 1 overall.
