Heading into what could be described as a Game 7 for the ages in the Eastern Conference Finals against Boston, there are two moves Erik Spoelstra and the Miami Heat can pivot to.

If you had told the Miami Heat before the NBA Playoffs began that as an 8th seed, they would make it all the way to Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals, they take that scenario 10 out of 10 times. However, considering that the Heat held a 3-0 series lead through the first three games of the conference finals against the Boston Celtics, Game 7 doesn’t have the same ring to it now that it is here.

The Heat is on the precipice of the greatest collapse in NBA history. And the only thing that can prevent such a narrative from developing is winning Game 7 on the road at TD Garden. Considering that the Heat has lost three-straight games, two at home, to the Celtics, the chances of the Heat actually winning Game 7 are not great.

Add in the fact that Jimmy Butler hasn’t looked healthy since Game 3 and that Bam Adebayo hasn’t had a dominating performance in this series since Game 2, it’s quite clear that the Heat is going to need to play as close to a perfect game, with some luck sprinkled in, to even have a shot to win Game 7.

The Miami Heat have a punching chance in Game 7 because of head coach Erik Spoelstra

Nevertheless, the Heat will at least have a shot. That’s something they’ve earned. And you have to trust Heat coach Erik Spoelstra to have his troops ready to go, especially after he essentially guaranteed a win after a heartbreaking Game 6 loss.

If the Heat is going to win Game 7 on the road, they’re going to likely make some adjustments. Heading into a Game 7 for the ages, we explore two possible moves that Spo could still have up his sleeve as somewhat of a last resort against the Celtics.
