NBA Trade Rumors: In an attempt to expand their options, the Houston Rockets are reportedly open to the possibility of moving the No. 4 pick in the NBA Draft.

There are roughly two weeks before the 2023 NBA Draft and there are plenty of storylines that are beginning to take shape at the top. Aside from Victor Wembanyama, there are few certainties heading into the NBA Draft. There are some expectations, but the exact order of picks 2-10 will be almost impossible to predict.

But that will likely only add to the intrigue heading into the NBA Draft. One of the bigger questions surrounds what the Houston Rockets will do with the No. 4 overall pick. In what appears to be a top-3 prospect draft, the Rockets are in a somewhat difficult position. However, they could also look at the No. 4 spot as an opportunity – the opportunity to explore other options.

And according to a recent report, the Rockets are at least open to the possibility of trading the pick.

What could the Houston Rockets trade the No. 4 overall pick for?

If the Rockets were to trade the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, you would have to assume that it would be for a difference-maker that could help the team win now. Considering this is a Rockets team that is ready to make a big splash during the offseason, the Rockets trading the No. 4 pick for a veteran contributor would not be all that surprising.

The question is, is there a team out there that would be willing to part ways with what it will take to land a top 5 pick in this year’s NBA Draft?

That’s difficult to say. But there are some teams to keep an eye on heading into the NBA Draft. One of those could be the Toronto Raptors.

Would the Raptors be open to sending OG Anunby as part of a package to land the No. 4 overall pick? If the Raptors are ready to retool, perhaps that’s something the team would be open to. If the Rockets were willing to staple another one of their young players to the No. 4 pick, perhaps a move for Anunoby would work.

That still feels like an unlikely scenario. But that’s one example of a possible deal that could make some sense for the Rockets, even if it doesn’t make complete sense right now for the Raptors.
