The Memphis Grizzlies have found themselves in the news for all the wrong reasons. That said, the Grizzlies are still one of the most talented teams in the NBA. And in an attempt to protect the team from what appears will be a lengthy suspension for Ja Morant, the Grizzlies could explore the signing of a veteran point guard. This offseason, there may not be a better option than Chris Paul.

Paul may not be able to carry a team for a full 82-game season at this point in his career, but there’s reason to believe that he could play a valuable role in where the Grizzlies are at this point in their progression as a young team. Even without Paul, it was a safe assumption that Memphis would need to add some veteran leadership to their team this offseason. Paul makes sense on several levels.

That said, it remains to be seen if Paul views the Grizzlies as a team that is close to winning a title in the Western Conference. For as talented as this team is, that’s far from a foregone conclusion.
