NBA Draft Rumor: Indiana Pacers shopping picks for starting power forward

Heading into the 2023 NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers are a team that will have plenty of flexibility at their disposal. They have three first-round picks to use and the recent rumblings suggest that the Pacers could package their two late first-round picks (No. 26 and 29 overall) in an attempt to find a starting power forward.

With one of the more talented cores in the league, the Pacers’ power forward position is very much a weak point on the roster. And it would make sense for the Pacers to try to acquire a starting 4 before the start of the season in an attempt to give Myles Turner some help in the frontcourt.

Even if they end up selecting a power forward with the No. 7 pick, would it be smart for the Pacers to expect them to be ready to start on day one? That seems like a disaster waiting to happen for a team that is looking to take a step forward in the Eastern Conference. Two names that could end up being selected by the team at No. 7 are Jarace Walker and Taylor Hendricks. Still, both of those prospects would very much benefit from having another veteran on the roster.
