NBA Draft Rumor: Ausar Thompson ahead of Amen Thompson

The Thompson brothers, Amen and Ausar, are both expected to be top 10 picks in this year’s NBA Draft. There’s at least an outside chance that they can also both be selected in the top 5. Interestingly enough, there is a growing narrative that has Ausar jumping ahead of Amen as a prospect.

In Kevin O’Connor’s most recent NBA Draft big board, he has Ausar leaping ahead of his brother Amen. It’s not a popular trend yet but could get there over the final two weeks before the NBA Draft. Ausar has made quite the jump over the past couple of months. He’s gone from a late top-10 pick to a potential top-5 selection all of a sudden. The question is, does this recent development resonate across the league?

If I had to make a prediction right now this second, I simply don’t believe it. Amen has the opportunity to be special and one of the best players to come out of this draft class. For as good as Ausar can be, I don’t project him to have that limitless potential in the NBA. I don’t think this is something that catches on.
