NBA Draft Rumor: Bilal Coulibaly has a draft promise in the lottery

One of the hottest NBA Draft rumors as of late has revolved around Bilal Coulibaly not just jumping into the lottery but also getting a draft promise from one of the late lottery teams. If this is indeed the case, you’d have to assume that the team that gave him the draft promise is probably the Oklahoma City Thunder or Toronto Raptors. The Orlando Magic can’t be that team, considering they may not even pick at No. 11. The same for Dallas with the No. 10 pick. I suppose Utah could’ve been the team, but I have my doubts.

New Orleans is stacked in the frontcourt, so I can’t envision them promising Coulibaly anything before the NBA Draft. It has to be the Thunder or Raptors if this rumor is indeed true. And with Coulibaly’s measurables, it should not come as any surprise that he’s quickly rising up NBA Draft boards.

There are certainly questions about his raw potential but isn’t that what the NBA Draft is mostly about – taking risks on players with high ceilings? I think there’s a very good chance that Coulibaly ends up being a surprise lottery pick in a couple of weeks.
