Jimmy Butler’s championship window is closing quickly

As impressive as the Miami Heat’s unlikely run to the NBA Finals run was, this is a franchise that can’t get stuck on the high of it. Even though the Heat managed to make a deep run in the playoffs, this is just an extremely flawed roster. And heading into the offseason, the Heat can’t afford to let another offseason pass by without making a significant upgrade. One of the bigger reasons why – Jimmy Butler’s championship window is quickly closing.

Jimmy is going to be 34 years old by the time next season begins and the Heat can’t continue to rely on his greatness alone. Even though Bam Adebayo has made huge strides in his game over the last few seasons, he’s not a legit supporting offensive star that Jimmy needs to help take some of the pressure off of him. That’s where a player like Bradley Beal would make a lot of sense.

Especially if the Heat is going to try to keep Jimmy fresh heading into the postseason, they’re going to need a legit offensive star to help carry the load during the regular season. The big question the Heat would have to answer is whether Beal can be that player.
