He’d be a great schematic fit next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo
From a basketball point of view, there is little reason not to like the potential fit of Bradley Beal with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Beal could play off the Jimmy and Bam, work the pick-and-roll as a better playmaker than he gets credit for, or even be a primary ball-handler or scorer when needed. We’ve seen Beal average 30 points per game as the No. 1 offensive option in Washington and then become an efficient 20-points-per-game scorer playing next to better talent this past season (Kyle Kuzma, Kristaps Porzingis).
Just imagine what head coach Erik Spoelstra will be able to do with him in the Heat’s system if they found a way to pull off a deal. In the NBA, it’s not always about fit. But if there were any concerns about how Beal would fit on this Heat team, those should be put to bed.
Perhaps the most underrated part of a potential Beal acquisition is that he’ll solve a lot of the issues the Heat had with shooting this past season. Beal would not only bring his strong 3-point shooting but he’d also open everything else up for Jimmy and Bam in the paint.
