NBA Trade Rumors: Heading into the offseason, the expectation is that the Miami Heat will be the favorites to land Bradley Beal.

In the last few years, the Miami Heat has tried to land a star to play next to Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. They’ve pursued Donovan Mitchell, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Jrue Holiday, and Kyrie Irving recently. They are also probably other pursuits that were never reported. However, the Heat never seemed close on any of those moves.

The offseason has barely arrived and something feels different this time when it comes to the Heat’s desire for a star. With as much trade smoke as there is in the air, it almost seems like a foregone conclusion that the Heat is going to add someone. At the very least, they’re going to have a good shot to acquire a star player this offseason.

According to a recent report, that star player may end up being Bradley Beal. Per this report, the Heat is “above the rest of the league” when it comes to a preferred landing spot for Beal. Or at least that’s the current belief.

It should be noted, Beal has not given an official preferred landing spot list. As this report indicates, the belief is that the Heat is in the driver’s position to land Beal if he does end up being traded this offseason.

What would a potential Bradley Beal trade look like?

It’s tough to predict exactly what a Beal trade would look like but you can envision a framework for Beal would have to include Tyler Herro and a future first-round pick, at least. I can’t imagine the Wizards accepting a trade that doesn’t include at least one future first-round pick and a talented young player.

Even though Beal has a no-trade clause, the Wizards could just elect not to trade him. It would probably make the situation that much more difficult, but Washington can’t just give Beal up for nothing. And I would imagine that the relationship between the two would also prevent Beal from letting the situation get to that point.

At least for now, it seems like there’s some growing momentum that Beal is going to be traded at some point this offseason (it wouldn’t be all that surprising if it happened before the NBA Draft). It’s starting to look like it may end up being to the Miami Heat.
