Realistic – The Brooklyn Nets trade into the late lottery

One realistic trade that we could very well see happen is the Brooklyn Nets trading into the late lottery. The Nets are equipped with back-to-back first-round picks, No. 21 and 22. They could easily package both those picks, perhaps along with a second-round pick, to move up in the draft. The question is, how high could the Nets realistically move up and would that be worth the assets that they would give up?

I believe that a lot of that will depend on the target that the Nets have in mind and whether he’ll be available at the spot where the Nets could realistically move up. The Nets are in an interesting position heading into the offseason. They’re not necessarily in a rebuild with Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson but are a team that should still be targeting young talent.

And I have no idea what to make with Ben Simmons, who is still on the roster and is pretty much an untradable asset at this point in his career. Nevertheless, with assets to move, the Nets are a team to watch during the NBA Draft and in free agency.
