2. Charlotte Hornets – Brandon Miller, F, Alabama

Even though I still believe there’s a slight chance that the Charlotte Hornets end up trading this pick, especially if the right deal for Zion Williamson emerges, I ultimately think they keep it. Especially with new management coming in. While there has been recent noise that they could select Scoot Henderson, I’m going to lean with what we’ve been hearing for the majority of the last few months.

Brandon Miller will be the pick as the Hornets attempt to build a strong 1-2 punch as they head into a new era for the franchise. Miller could be the perfect piece too. He is one of the most talented natural scorers in this year’s NBA Draft class and does things that not many other 6-foot-9 players can do.

If Miller reaches his ceiling as a player, he has the potential to be a superstar in this league. But that onus will fall on the Hornets and their developmental system. Nevertheless, the team appears to be all-in on Miller. It’ll be interesting to see how it ends up working for both Miller and the Hornets over the next few seasons.

This is a pick that the Hornets almost have to make at this point.
