Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are on the verge of a completely new era for the team. And with new ownership in tow, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Hornets elected to make a big splash this offseason. Maybe they don’t end up making the move for Zion Williamson, which would be considered costly, but they instead make a low-cost move for Jordan Poole. One of the most talented young players in the league, who still hasn’t hit his ceiling, he’d be an interesting addition to Charlotte.

The biggest question would revolve around how he would possibly fit next to LaMelo Ball. And there would certainly be defensive questions about their fit together. However, a Ball-Poole backcourt could be one of the biggest tickets in the Eastern Conference. Throw in Brandon Miller, who very well may end up being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and the Hornets could be on to something.

The Hornets have plenty of veteran options to work with in a potential deal, and the draft capital to make an intriguing offer. There would be many that are quick to shoot down the Hornets’ potential pursuit of Poole but at the right price, it could be too appealing to turn down for a rebuilding team.
