Jordan Hawkins: Trade up to No. 13
The Memphis Grizzlies are in desperate need of someone who can shoot the ball, and Jordan Hawkins can do that and a bit more.
On his way to a National Championship with UCONN this year, Hawkins showcased his unbelievable stroke from downtown, his sneaky burst, and his willingness to compete. At 6-foot-5 Jordan has decent size at the shooting guard position as well.
In Memphis, since he’s 21 years old, and he’s got a ready-made NBA skillset, he should be able to play decent minutes right away. If he can provide solid shooting and scoring off the bench for Memphis, it’ll be a great pick. Plus, he’s got some upside to be a more important offensive piece in the future.
Really the only criticism against Hawkins is that some believe he has limited upside, and is more of a role player. I personally think he’s got a really high floor and a decently high ceiling, so he’d be a great pick.
The Raptors possess the 13th pick, and it’s pretty unclear the direction they want to go. Supplying them with a 2024 unprotected first-rounder and a second in the future could do the job, or cutting ties with a former top-10 guy like Ziaire Williams might work as well.
