In the end, Scoot Henderson will be selected No. 2 overall

The Charlotte Hornets have a big decision to make with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Before the season, the belief was that whoever was making the selection at No. 2 would be taking Scoot Henderson. However, over the last few months, there has been a growing narrative that Brandon Miller had overtaken Henderson as the second-best prospect in this year’s draft class.

The Hornets reportedly still haven’t made a decision between the two and you’d have to imagine that it will come down to draft night. In the end, I predict that the Hornets are going to come around back to Henderson. He’s objectively the better player and even though he may not be a great fit next to LaMelo Ball, you have to roll the dice on talent and figure out team fit later.

Especially considering that the Hornets are in the early stages of what will likely be a long rebuild. Charlotte’s No. 1 focus heading into the NBA Draft should be acquiring as much talent as they can. Miller may end up being a good player but Henderson should be the pick. I predict that he will be.
