The Toronto Raptors will trade one (if not both) of Pascal Siakam and/or OG Anunoby

Piggybacking off the previous prediction, I want to cement down this thought of the Toronto Raptors trading one of their big two. On NBA Draft night, I would be extremely surprised if the Raptors didn’t move Pascal Siakam or OG Anunoby. Toronto is in a place where they’re probably going to lose Gary Trent Jr. and Fred VanVleet in free agency; it just makes too much sense for the Raptors to not make the pivot toward a retooling.

While you can make the argument that the Raptors should probably trade both Siakam and Anunoby if they are moving toward a rebuild or retooling, I think it would be better for their development if they can keep one of them on board. And the recent reporting suggests that it may be easier to pry Siakam ut of the Raptors’ hand compared to Anunoby.

Again, that could end up being more smoke than fire but it’s certainly an interesting tidbit. I would suppose this is the case because Siakam is the older of the two.

Heading into draft night, the expectation should be that one of Siakam and Anunoby will be traded by the Raptors.
