Deandre Ayton, Phoenix Suns

Last summer, all signs pointed to the Phoenix Suns moving on from Deandre Ayton. In the end, the team elected to match the offer sheet that he signed with the Indiana Pacers to retain the 7-foot big man. However, it seems that this is finally the offseason where the Suns and Ayton are going to part ways. And the trade of Bradley Beal all but confirmed that. In fact, it was somewhat surprising that Ayton wasn’t part of that deal to the Wizards.

Nevertheless, the Suns will now use Ayton to try and bolster their supporting cast around their new big three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Beal. For any team that’s looking for a young big, Ayton should be on their radar heading into the NBA Draft. He’s a player that could be moved at any moment.

For the past two seasons, Ayton has been somewhat of an out-of-place fit with the Suns. It’s probably time for them to trade Ayton and it would be extremely surprising if it didn’t happen at some point over the next few weeks.
