Malcolm Brogdon, Boston Celtics

What will ultimately be remembered as a disappointing season for the Boston Celtics was littered with bright spots. One of the bigger bright moments for the Celtics this past season revolved around Malcolm Brogdon winning the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award. He was a huge part of the team’s success and you’d have to think that one of the bigger reasons why the Celtics ultimately fell short was the injury to Brogdon. But that’s another conversation for another day.

Heading into the offseason, Brogdon has emerged as a possible trade candidate. In an attempt to thin out the backcourt rotation, the belief is that the Celtics are going to trade one if not two of their guards – that means Marcus Smart, Derrick White, Brogdon, and/or Payton Pritchard could be on the move.

And if I had to bet, Brogdon is probably the one that gets the short end of that stick. Plus, he’s also the player that the Celtics could get pretty good value for on the trade market. I’m not sure what the possible timeline is for a Brogdon trade but at this point, it seems like a foregone conclusion.

Maybe it happens at the NBA Draft?
