Tyler Herro to Salt Lake City

As much as it’s been said that Danny Ainge won’t help Pat Riley or the Miami Heat, we’re going to ignore that fact for a while. And we must also remember, if there’s a fair deal to be done that would help the team, it would be malpractice not to do it. Plus, he’s not the only one in charge in Utah. If the Jazz would be open to acquiring Herro, there could be many ways to pull it off. One way would involve the Heat getting Collin Sexton in return.

But it would be costly for the Heat to pull it off. And, ultimately, it may be the Heat that ends up being not willing to pull the trigger on such a deal. Miami would likely have to give up Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., a protected 2027 first-round pick, and sign and trade Gabe Vincent to get the Jazz to be interested in a potential deal. That may be too much for Miami’s front office to sign off on. Unless, of course, they’re completely sold on the fact that Sexton would be the team’s third star.

If they are, there’s no reason they shouldn’t go all-in with this type of offer for a 24-year-old guard.
