NBA Rumors: Bold and striking predictions as the start of NBA Free Agency approaches.

The start of the 2023 NBA Free Agency period is merely a couple of days away. Not only does the free agency mark one of the most exciting times in the NBA calendar but it also officially makes the start of the new year.

Teams are given permission to speak to free agents (and come to agreements) starting Friday, June 30 at 6:00 p.m. They are then allowed to officially sign free agents on July 6. In what is expected to be an active and entertaining next few weeks, we make 10 bold predictions of what we expect to transpire.

10 Bold predictions for the start of NBA Free Agency

Draymond Green will not re-sign with the Golden State Warriors

Let’s get started with a bang. With my first prediction, I believe that Draymond Green will not re-sign with the Golden State Warriors. Even though all the recent signs point to the Warriors bringing Draymond back, especially after trading Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards, I don’t think it’s the guarantee that many believe it to be.

Heading into free agency, the big question that the Warriors need to ask themselves is whether they’re willing to make give a max (or if not a max, something really close to a max) extension to a version of Draymond who, at times, can be a complete shell of himself?

For all the intangibles that he brings to the game and how instrumental he’s been to the Warriors’ success in the past decade, he’s coming off a season in which he averaged nine points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Is that worth a max extension?

I believe the Warriors will let Draymond be lured away by another rich offer. Two teams to keep an eye on – Sacramento Kings and Houston Rockets.
